The Hobbit : An Unexpected Journey is the first part of a three-part series based on the book by JRR Tolkien. Originally the story would be filmed in two parts: the first part would tell the story of The Hobbit and the second part the transition from the Hobbit to The Lord of the Rings. Part 1 was released in December 2012 . Part 2 is not released yet. Part three was expected in the summer of 2014 but was later postponed to December 2014.
