The Lord of the Rings is an American animation / fantasy film from 1978 based on the book The Lord of the Rings by JRR Tolkien. The film covers only the first half of this book. The film is directed by Ralph Bakshi. Votes were voiced by William Squire, John Hurt, Michael Graham Cox and Anthony Daniels. The screenplay was written by Peter S.
